Minutes from August 8, 2016: Correction in Chamber Events/Promotions paragraph: In the last sentence the term “Proceeds” needs to be changed to “Profits.”

Motion to accept minutes with recommended changes above: Mike – 2^nd Sandy – All in favor.

Treasure’s Report: Current balance $21,755.29 – Motion to accept Treasure’s Report: Sandy – 2^nd Morgan – All in favor.

1^st Citizen’s Banquet – February 27, 2016 WCC. – Nancy will make sure the banquet room is available.

First Citizens dinner/committee: Steve and Cindy, Mike and Marianne, Josh and Stephanie, Kathy Stutzman, Nancy Beiter, Ken and Sharon, Morgan Asten and Mandy Johnson - Meetings are generally Sundays at 6pm at Ken and Sharon’s house, Nancy to verify.

Economic Development: meeting on Wednesday Sept 14^th @ noon at City Hall

RDI meeting Thursday Sept 15^th @ Community Center

Banners are due to come down in October; Holiday Banners will go up in November.  Still waiting on proof for fall flyers.

Business of the month- Winston Liquor Store

Golf Cart/Flowers; golf cart is officially out of commission and the flowers are dead. Wayne with South River will contact Winston Fire Dept to see if they can assist in taking down baskets and taking them to Wintergreen Nursery to be stored for winter.

Mike will get quotes for a new watering vehicle with Umpqua Valley Tractor

December 3^rd the Christmas tree lighting – looking to build up the participation and attendance; possible performance by choir and marching band

December 9^th Community Christmas Event at the community center.

Nomination committee for 2017 officers:  Nancy, Sandy, Morgan and Mandy

Core Project/Elephant Walk Celebration September 24^th from 1-4 food and drink will be provided

The core project is looking at making a float for the Melon festival parade on the 17^th at 11am…time to make the float is yet to be determined.

Steve announced on October 8^th from 530-9pm at the community Center WCEN is having their annual fundraiser tickets are on sale now online at https://squareup.com/store/winston-community-education-network  or you can pay by check or cash at Michelle Waggoners office.

Next General Meeting will be at Carlos’ on September 27^th- Josh will reach out to all city candidates to invite them.
